When Gabe first reached out to me about capturing some engagement photos for him and his stunning bride-to-be, Sophia, I thought we were planning a classic love-filled portrait session. What I didn't realize was that Gabe had something even more magical up his sleeve—he was planning to propose. Not only that, he was flying in secretly from across the country to pull it off. Cue the goosebumps!

As a Victoria, BC engagement photographer, I’ve been lucky to witness some pretty incredible love stories—but this one hit me right in the feels. The level of planning, love, and intention Gabe poured into this moment was nothing short of beautiful. I think I was almost as excited as he was (maybe more!).

After some thoughtful location scouting, we landed on the perfect setting: a quiet, romantic gazebo tucked within the enchanting grounds of Royal Roads University. With its moss-covered stone paths, historic charm, and peaceful forest backdrop, it felt like stepping into a fairytale.

When the moment came, everything aligned. The light was soft and golden, the air was filled with anticipation, and then—he dropped to one knee. I silently cried happy tears behind my camera as Sophia gasped, laughed, and said a tearful, joy-filled “yes.” It was raw, real, and absolutely perfect.
