What started as a playful, spooky-themed photoshoot in downtown Victoria turned into something magically unexpected—and I got to capture every moment of it!

Jordan had been planning the ultimate surprise for his Halloween-loving partner Violet: a proposal she’d never forget. Disguised as a simple seasonal shoot, this session had all the trimmings of their favourite holiday—pumpkins, skull makeup, moody skies, and a shared love of all things October. What Violet didn’t know was that Jordan was hiding something much bigger in his (probably cobweb-covered) pocket: a ring.

Despite the classic west coast rain pouring down around us, their spirits were high and the vibe was perfect—playful, romantic, and just the right amount of spooky. The drizzle only made everything more dramatic. Their skull makeup smudged slightly in the rain, but their smiles couldn’t be washed away. At just the right moment, Jordan got down on one knee and popped the question: “Vant to be my vife?”

Violet said yes. Of course she did. How could you not fall in love with a proposal that’s as unique and heartfelt as the couple themselves?
